What is Supported Independent Living?

Supported Independent Living is an NDIS-funded support for eligible participants who need help with daily tasks while living in a shared or individual home environment. The level and type of assistance are based on the participant’s support needs and NDIS plan.

We begin by learning about the participant: how they communicate, what a good day looks like, the routines they prefer, the risks that need to be managed and the goals they want to work towards. We then collaborate with the participant and their chosen supporters to establish clear, consistent arrangements.

Yes. L & N Care Pty Ltd, trading as Specialised Living, is a registered NDIS provider.
Our registered supports include Supported Independent Living, personal activities, high-intensity personal activities within our approved scope, travel and transport assistance, daily tasks and shared living, community participation, and group and centre-based activities.
Supported Independent Living is assistance for eligible NDIS participants who need support with daily tasks while living in a shared or individual home environment. SIL funding and suitability are determined through the participant’s NDIS planning process.

Yes. We encourage participants and their chosen supporters to ask questions and meet with us before making a decision.
We are registered for high-intensity daily personal activities, with approval to deliver complex bowel care. We can also assist with day-to-day medication management. Suitability is assessed individually and depends on the required support, worker competency and agreed arrangements.
Yes. Support coordinators, participants, nominees, family members and allied health professionals can contact us. We will only collect or share participant information with appropriate authority or consent.
Specialised Living operates in Victoria. Please contact us with the participant’s location and service needs so we can confirm current capacity.
We listen to the participant, review relevant information with consent, identify goals and risks, agree on clear support arrangements and review the service as needs change.
