NDIS Information
Supporting you to live with greater choice and independence
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) provides eligible people with disability with funding for reasonable and necessary supports. These supports are designed to help participants pursue their goals, increase independence, participate in the community and improve everyday life.
Specialised Living works with participants, families, carers, nominees, support coordinators and other members of a participant’s support network. We take the time to understand what matters to each person and provide supports in a way that respects their preferences, culture, identity, privacy and right to make decisions.
Our approach
- Person-centred – your goals, needs, routines and preferences guide your supports.
- Choice and control – you are involved in decisions about who supports you, when supports are delivered and how they are provided.
- Respect and dignity – we respect your rights, privacy, culture, identity and personal relationships.
- Safety and quality – we work to provide reliable supports and respond promptly to concerns, risks and changes in your needs.
- Independence and participation – we support you to build skills, make connections and take part in your home and community in ways that are meaningful to you.
How to access supports
- Contact Specialised Living to tell us what support you are looking for.
- We will discuss your goals, support needs, preferences, location and NDIS funding arrangements.
- We will confirm whether we can safely and appropriately provide the requested supports.
- Before services begin, we will explain our fees, service arrangements, responsibilities, cancellation terms and how to provide feedback or make a complaint.
- Together, we will agree on how your supports will be delivered and reviewed.
Using your NDIS funding
NDIS plans may be self-managed, plan-managed or managed by the NDIA. The providers you can use may depend on how your funding is managed and on the provider’s registration status. We will confirm whether we can accept your funding arrangement before services begin.
Your NDIS plan belongs to you. Specialised Living does not make decisions about your eligibility, plan budget or funding. Questions about an NDIS decision, plan or payment should be directed to the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA).
